James E. Trunzo
Vice President, Specialty Chemicals
Mr. Trunzo has over 29 years of operating and management experience in the production of alloys and industrial chemicals from ores and post-industrial materials. An Air Force veteran, he has an A.A.S. in Material Science (with distinction) and a B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering from Western Michigan University . Prior to joining CVC in 2000, Mr. Trunzo held various management and operating positions with Union Carbide and Dow Corning. In 1989 he joined Silicon Metaltech and was instrumental in reorganizing the company from bankruptcy and was elected Chairman, CEO, and President in 1992. In 1993 the company was sold to American Silicon Technologies, where he continued as President. CVC assumed ownership in 2000. His current assignment as Vice President, Specialty Chemicals involves the commercialization of unique technologies for the production of precipitated silica and specialty fluoride chemicals. A manufacturing facility is currently under construction.
